Sugar House Park
Is the Area's Heart
Year-Round Beauty
Go to Salt Lake
City's Sugar
House Park in
the summer and
it's filled with
joggers,
picnickers, and
teams practicing
soccer and
rugby. On winter
days, the hills
on the
perimeter are
packed with
sledders and
there are a few
hardy joggers
on the road, but
the interior is
mostly empty.
It's the best time
to take a dog for
a walk on the
paths along the
creek. The area
is surrounded
by older brick
homes.
Ducks are year-round residents of the pond at Sugar House Park's west end.
Parleys Creek, above, pours into this scenic duck pond at the park's west end (above).

Sledders, right, take on a
hill on the north side of
the park. The best sled
hill is on the southwest
end, though a hill on the
east side is best for tots.
